Obituary of Marion Miller

Peacefully, after a short illness on Friday, February 7, 2025 at the Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay, at age 99. Marion (nee Robertson), beloved wife of the late Ross Miller of Sunderland. Loving mother of Susan Miller and her partner Randy Knight of Dunsford, and Glenn Miller and his wife Maxine of Owen Sound. Loved grandmother of Scott Miller and his wife Katrina of Brooklyn, New York. Dear sister of Ross Robertson (deceased) and his wife Jean of Sunderland.

Marion spent 75 of her 99 years playing an active role in the Sunderland community. She worked side by side with her loving husband Ross on the farm and at the same time she was an employee of the CIBC. Marion had an amateur baseball career in Sunderland that spanned 4 decades – always a competitor! She was an active member of Sunderland United Church particularly with the U.C.W. – helping out every activity those hardworking women were involved with. Sporting activities were a common thread with Ross and Marion – curling, lawn bowling, cycling, golfing, and sitting on the sidelines at countless baseball and hockey games - Lively participants in all things community. The two of them shared a passion for travel and discovery from flying to Australia, to sailing above the Artic Circle, and vanning through most of Canada and the U.S.A.

A gathering to celebrate the life of Marion Miller will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church, 10 Church Street North in Sunderland on Friday, May 9^th from 1 – 4 p.m. Private interment Sunderland Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations may be made to St. Andrews United Church, Sunderland or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
