Obituary of Warren Ross Thomson

Peacefully, on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at his home in Leaskdale, at age 90. Warren Thomson, affectionately known as Bucky, beloved husband of Mary Patricia “Patsy” Thomson for over 69 years. Loved father of Pamela (Jeff) Mitchell & Patricia Artymko. Loving grandfather of Jillian Ellis (Braden Burmister), Cameron Mitchell, and Aaron Artymko (Shawna-Leigh Mariutti). Cherished great-grandfather of Warren, William, Brooke, Isabelle, and Maverick. Survived by his brother Bob Thomson, and sister Doll Pearson. Uncle Buck will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews.

Warren and Patsy have lived on their farm in Leaskdale since 1967. A master of trades, Bucky worked at General Motors for over 30 years which included roles as an electrician and consultant, and volunteer firefighter.

With a strong sense of community, Bucky also coached baseball and ran a Judo Dojo at Uxbridge Secondary School. Warren was also a member of the Uxbridge Mason Lodge and the Oshawa Shriners. Bucky truly lived life to the fullest.

A family man with a daredevil’s streak for adventure, he was an Avid fisherman, sportsman, a Canadian Go-Kart Champion, a motorcyclist, and could dance the Jitterbug and the Stroll with his Patsy like no one else. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it.

The family of Warren Thomson will receive friends at the THORNE FUNERAL HOME, 109 Laidlaw Street South in Cannington (705-432-2672) on Wednesday, October 1^st from 2 – 4 p.m. & 6 – 8 p.m. A private Celebration of Life service will be held at the family farm in Leaskdale.
