Obituary of Hendrika van Schaik

Peacefully, on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at Extendicare Kawartha Lakes, at age 93. Hendrika, lovingly known as Ria, beloved wife of Reyer van Schaik. Loved mother of Roger (Penny), Henry (Leslie), Lenore (Steve, predeceased), Robert (Mary), Charlie (Lynda), Richard (Teresa), and Jeffrey (Nicole). Cherished Oma of 27 grandchildren, and 37 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her grandson Richard.

The family of Hendrika van Schaik will receive friends at the THORNE FUNERAL HOME, 109 Laidlaw Street South in Cannington (705-432-2672) on Thursday, October 9^th from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m., and at the Woodville United Church, 104 King Street in Woodville, on Friday, October 10^th from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. A Service to celebrate her life will follow at 1:30 p.m. Interment at McIndoo’s Cemetery. A reception will follow the interment at the Woodville Legion, 126 Queen Street in Woodville. If desired, memorial donations may be made to Diabetes Canada.
