Obituary of Barbara Joan Hurlbert

Peacefully, on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at Woods Park Retirement Living in Barrie, at age 89. Beloved wife of the late Robert (Bob) Hurlbert for what would have been 70 years this June 29th. Loving mother of Roy (Tracey) Hurlbert, Valerie (Glenn) Chessell, Lorraine Hurlbert and Robert (Patricia) Hurlbert. Devoted grandmother of Matthew Delcourt, Genevieve (Mark) Cornell, Kathleen Chessell (predeceased), Michelle Chessell, Michael Chessell, Felicia Mawdsley, Cassandra Hurlbert (predeceased) and Thomas Hurlbert. Dearly remembered by her great grandchildren Nevaeh and Kara-Leigh Delcourt, Angelique and Wyatt Cornell, Lincoln and Xavier Kriegizas.

Friends are invited to call at the Thorne Funeral Home, 109 Laidlaw Street South in Cannington on Thursday, January 8 from 6 – 8 p.m. Private family interment Cedar Vale Cemetery on Friday, January 9th at 2:00 p.m. A gathering to celebrate the life of Barbara Hurlbert will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 186 (72 Peace Street, Cannington) on Saturday, January 10th from 1 – 4 p.m. If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation, or The Hospital for Sick Kid Children, would be appreciated.
