" To everything, there is a season A time for every purpose under heaven A time to weep, a time to laugh A time to mourn, and a time to dance " Ecclesistes 3:1-4 You will forever be in our hearts, Peter, from your morning coffee buddies here at the "Coffee Club". We will surely miss the fresh aroma every morning when we come, with your best coffee ever. And your famous line ....What's on sale at Canadian Tire ??? whenever we have the new flyer. We pray Lord that you welcome Peter into your heavenly home because we believe that his passing is not the end but just a beginning of an everlasting life.... Andrea Coronado

My deepest sympathy to Peter's family. May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief in this difficult time. I have known Peter for less than a year and he was a wonderful colleague. The office won't be the same without him. I will miss the wonderful stories of gardening that he always shared. Again my deepest condolences to the family.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to Peter’s immediate family and friends. Everyone has their own stories to tell of Peter, for us he was a colleague who was always willing to lend a helping hand. His knowledge, enthusiasm and compassion will surely be missed but his memory will live on.

My sincere condolences to all Peter's family, friends and colleagues. I had the pleasure of working closely with Peter for less than a year and although this was far shorter than I would have preferred, Peter is someone I will not soon forget. Peter always greeted me with a smile, morning greeting, talked about real life things that mattered and made you feel as if you were his longtime friend, never forgetting to poke his head in the door to say "have a great one" at the end of day. The comaraderie that Peter built with his close knit group of MTO colleagues was enviable as was Peter's ability to sense when anyone needed help. Peter was quick to drop everything and provide unwavering support and assistance to anyone all-the-while with a calming effect. I shared his passion for scanning the flyers for deals on anything from rakes to steaks. I would have liked to have had the opportunity to work and laugh with Peter for many more years - he left us far too early. God Bless you Peter Hannigan and thanks for enriching my life and that of so many others.

I worked with Peter for the last 8 years at the Ministry of Transportation and thoroughly enjoyed the many "chats" we shared. Peter was eager to speak of his celtic heritage and that was something we had in common as I am originally from Northern Ireland. I shall miss Peter a lot and extend to you all my sincere condolences at this difficult time. May God bless you all.

Peter's smile would light up a room. When at a gathering, he would participate in games and make sure others were also included. He will be missed. His quiet interest in all growing things led to an amazing vegetable garden, which bounty he shared with all his friends. His yard was filled with beautiful flowers. He will be missed. His knowledge of antiques made for engaging conversation, and he was a good partner for "yard saling". He will be missed.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of Peter. Peter was one of my really good and most respected friends here at the ministry. We shared some really good laughs in times when we needed a laugh and in times when laughing was the only solution . I offer my deepest sympathies to the Family. Peter will be truly missed here at the ministry.I will continue to celebrate his life everyday, knowing that he was indeed one of the most genuine persons I have ever had the pleasure of speaking to and confiding in. MAY GOD REST YOUR SOUL PETER. Your Friend Aaron

To the extended Hannigan family: Our hearts were filled with pain when we learned on Friday morning of the sudden and unexpected passing of our friend and colleague, Peter. Peter was a trusted colleague and staff member at the Ministry of Transportation who could always be counted on. He was extremely knowledgeable on a multitude of driver and vehicle related information and systems at MTO. He never hesitated to share that knowledge with others, while continuously expanding his own. Customer service was always paramount in his dealings with clients, and he went beyond the call of duty to ensure that his clients were always well served. Peter's love of gardening as well as tales of his beloved cats were widely shared with his colleagues at work - we were always thrilled when Peter brought in beautiful floral bouquets that were grown in his garden. He will be forever in our hearts and minds, and sadly missed by his colleagues and friends at MTO. With our deepest sympathies to his son, parents, sister, brother, nieces and all other family members. Condolences from his managers, supervisor, advisor, colleagues and friends in the Information Management Services Oversight Office, Ministry of Transportation.

I wish to send my deepest condolences to Peter's family and friends. I worked with Peter at MTO for almost 16 years and our conversations usually involved our mutual love of sports, especially our beloved Toronto Maple Leafs. He was lucky enough to see them win the Stanley Cup in his lifetime but I'm afraid I won't be so lucky! :-) Rest in peace.

I offer my sincerest condolences to Peter's family and friends. His passing was untimely and shocking. I have known Peter for 8 years. Upon joining the team, he was the first to train me. Whenever I needed help and advice both professionally and on a personal level he was always there. He was multi-talented from gardening, cooking, cars and to home-improvement. You will be missed Peter. My prayers are with your family to help them through this tragic event. Jesh
