I met Charlie while working with the Ministry of Natural Resources at the fisheries unit in Sibbald Point Park in late 70s and early 80s. He was a very big booster of the Park and a good friend to many of the staff there. He was a very honourable, kind and considerate person who always spoke in glowing terms of others and his community. Charlie never forgot people. He had a enormous capacity to remember peoples names and their place in the community. Each Christmas he would stop by the fisheries unit with a thoughtful care package for each of us. I was very pleased to know Charlie and I am saddened by his passing. Please accept my sincerest condolences. He was a wonderful person.

Charlie was a good friend to me for the last 30 years. I always enjoyed our meetings and he was always full of life and had a good and often funny story to relate. He inspired me to my many years of service in the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources to focus on Lake Simcoe which he loved. Charlie greeted my children in way in which they will never forget with warmth and fun -- he presented them with Silver Dollars on more than one Christmas when they were young and always welcomed them on their many camping adventures at Sibbald Point. He will be missed and well remembered
