Obituary of Ida Rhude

Ida Tressa Rhude In her 93rd year, of Lorneville, ON, formerly of Malagash NS. Entered into rest at the Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay, on Wednesday December 16th, 2009. Born in Fox Harbour Nova Scotia on the 27th of March 1917, she was the daughter of the late Fuller and Minnie (Staples) Green. Ida was the last surviving member of her family. Pre - deceased by her husband Percy, sons Donald, Robert and Gordon. Survived by her children Arthur (Roberta) Green of Uxbridge ON, Charles (Donna) Rhude of Lorneville ON, James Rhude of Oshawa ON, Kaye Smith of Truro NS, and Helen (George) Canfield of Pugwash NS, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grand - children, nieces and nephews. After moving to Ontario in 1964, Ida worked in childcare, Bowmanville Paper Factory and a nursing home for several years before moving to Lorneville. Ida was a giving woman who enjoyed her flowers, making preserves, all aspects of running a household and always cooking for family and friends when they came to visit. She was a great animal lover and enjoyed the company of her cats and dogs. Ida was also an active member of the Wildlife Confederation. In honouring her wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to call at the Thorne Funeral Home, 109 Laidlaw St.S., in Cannington on Saturday, December 19th, 2009 from 12 noon until time of Memorial Service at 1:00 pm. Interment of cremated remains will take place later in Wallace NS. As a remembrance, donations to the Wildlife Confederation or a local SPCA, would be appreciated.
