Entered into rest peacefully at Lakeview Manor Beaverton on Sunday July 18, 2010 in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of the late Theda Shier. Loving father of Gail (Paul) Barton of Uxbridge and Paul (Brenda) Shier of Cannington. Dear Grampa of Robin, Julie, Joe, Amanda and Heather and Great Grampa of Karly and Zack. Also survived by sister Barbara Pickell and brother Donald. Predeceased by siblings Dora Kennedy, Maude McKinnon, John, Frank, Charlie, Mary Shepherd and Bertha Hale. Friends are invited to call at the Thorne Funeral Home in Cannington on Tuesday evening July 20th from 7-9 pm. Funeral service in the Chapel on Wednesday at 11 am. Interment Cedar Vale Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
