I was deeply saddened by the news of Grace's passing. Dana and I are out in BC at the moment, so we will be unable to attend the funeral. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to all of her family. Grace touched the lives of the students and teachers she worked with. She was a temendous role model and a willing mentor for every young teacher on the staff. She motivated us, by example, to demand more of our students, and by doing so, push them further towards their potential. Many students feared her disapproval and demands, but they all realized and admitted, upon reflection, that she cared deeply about them and that they were better for it. Students learned quickly that there was never an acceptable excuse for sloppiness, laziness or tardiness. She demanded the best from everyone and always returned her best to them. Her legacey lives on. She will be sadly missed by all.
