I was so sorry to hear today about Grace's passing. As a new teacher at L.C.V.I., I was in awe of Mrs. Kelsey. She was an exceptional teacher and a role model, particularly for young women in the school. She earned the respect of colleagues, students and parents. She will be missed. My sincere condolences to her family.

I had the privelege of having "Grace" teach me Grade 12 Algebra and Grade 13 Algebra and Trigonometry at LCVI in the mid-sixties. I have always considered her as the best teacher I ever had at any level. If you were trying your best she would go to any extent to help you; if she thought you were not giving your all she had no qualms about swatting you with a Trigonometry book (I received a couple of those myself). Truly a highlight of my education. Bob Gordon

I was deeply saddened by the news of Grace's passing. Dana and I are out in BC at the moment, so we will be unable to attend the funeral. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to all of her family. Grace touched the lives of the students and teachers she worked with. She was a temendous role model and a willing mentor for every young teacher on the staff. She motivated us, by example, to demand more of our students, and by doing so, push them further towards their potential. Many students feared her disapproval and demands, but they all realized and admitted, upon reflection, that she cared deeply about them and that they were better for it. Students learned quickly that there was never an acceptable excuse for sloppiness, laziness or tardiness. She demanded the best from everyone and always returned her best to them. Her legacey lives on. She will be sadly missed by all.

Jo Anne and I are sorry to hear of your mother's passing. We met her when we came to teach at LCVI. She was an experienced and helpful person for those of us, young and inexperienced. She had high expectations for her students and her peers, and we all benefited from her presence. She is well remembered by all. Jo Anne and Bruce Beatty
