Obituary of Lilly Ellen Curtis

Lilly Ellen Curtis (nee Dunn) died in her 90th year of life. Born in a farming community in Northern Ontario, Ellen moved to Oshawa in 1946. Apart from three years spent in New England where she qualified as a Registered Nurse, she spent the rest of her life in the Oshawa/Courtice area, living for 47 years on Tooley's Road North. Ellen worked in Labour and Delivery at Oshawa General Hospital (now Lakeridge Health) for over 20 years. Ellen was predeceased by Roy, her husband of 59 years, in 2013. She is survived by her five children Clifford (Flora), Elaine Sittlinger (George), Mary Lou Toop (John), Sheila Hill (Colin), Sandra Palinka (Archie). She also leaves a brother, Raymond Dunn, a beloved sister-in-law Violet (Curtis) Prouty, twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren and several dozen nieces and nephews. A Service will be held on Sunday, February 21st at College Park Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1164 King Street East, Oshawa with visitation at 10:30 a.m. and service to follow at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made by cheque to College Park Church Community Services.
