Peacefully, on Saturday, August 20, 2016, at Bon Air Long Term Care Residence in Cannington, at age 91. Violet Helen “Laurene” (nee Carruthers), beloved wife of the late Robert C. English (2011), of Sunderland.
Loving mother of Susan James of Port Carling, Tom of Lindsay, Lois and her husband Peter Hamlin of Oshawa, and Dan of Lindsay. Loved grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Edna Sinclair of Stayner. Predeceased by sister Dorothy Johnston, and brothers Harvey Carruthers and Arnott Carruthers. Will be missed by her nieces and nephews.
The family of Laurene English will receive friends at the Thorne Funeral Home, 109 Laidlaw Street South in Cannington on Tuesday, August 23rd from 7 – 9 p.m. and Wednesday, August 24th from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. A Service to celebrate her life will be held in the Chapel at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Les Hills officiating. Interment Sunderland Cemetery.
