With deepest sympathy to Kens family and friends. He was a man that was loved by those that knew him. We had wonderful years listening, singing and playing music with him. That time is treasured and now we know he has gone to share those talents with those that have gone before him. Play on forever dear friend.

What a wonderful picture of Ken. so want to remember Ken for the wonderful guy and musician he was. Always willing to lend a hand and I regret never making a point to see Ken years ago to learn guitar. He was truly talented. Ken loved his farm and his music he will be missed by many.. My heart is heavy knowing the last song has been sung by this man. My Uncle Ken passed yesterday morning from the Cancer that he fought to the very end. The doctor told us to gather family last Friday to say goodbye. Ken told death and cancer to go fuck itself and gave us another day filled with moments, stories, laughter and of course music. Through all his pain and suffering he set up his mic and grabbed his guitar. He played for us because that was his joy and gift. Too stubborn to let pain be the reason to stop him. But he play a couple tunes just to let cancer know it was on his terms.
But that’s always how it’s been, on his terms. A self made man, a mans man. There was always something to do, or always a way it could be done. Self taught and on his own with a grade 8 education he set out into the world. He was a no shit type of guy and you knew exactly where you stood with him. But that didn’t make him a mean person either. He was first to lend a hand to a stranger and even quicker for friend or neighbours.
Married before with no kids he lost his first wife Judy. He was alone but still playing music and being a known figure in the community. But late in Life he met who I feel was his Soul Mate, enter Doris. He seemed to soften, smile and laugh a little more. They met playing music and continued together till his passing. Music was just the seed for their Love to grow for each other. The glimmer in his eye when he talked about Doris was undeniable. He said he knew he had a full Life, he just wished he could of had more time to Love the woman he waited his whole Life for. They were truly meant to be.
Uncle Ken was my example of how to be a man, he was my inspiration to sing and perform. My greatest joy was the look of pride in his when he watched me sing. I was complete.
He is gone but his impact will last with all who knew him. He apparently left his amp on the night he passed on (he never did that) this left his microphone and his guitar ready to play. Well the stage is empty as it has lost a great performer. But typical of Ken, I think he’d want us to step up to that mic and guitar and sing a tune. Time for you Ken to sit back and enjoy the music. Love you Ken and will miss you dearly.
