We were both saddened this morning to read that Merlyn had passed away and are so sorry that we are not at home in Canada right now to attend his Celebration of Life. As we drank our morning coffee, we recalled some of the times that Merlyn impacted our lives. Merlyn was a wonderful neighbour when we lived on the 13th of Brock. He loved to entertain our young daughters when Frances was babysitting them. He rescued my mother one winter when she was staying with our children. Due to an ice storm, the power went out for days so he and Frances moved them all into their own home. On another occasion, our well pump quit on us when we had a family visiting us from BC. Merlyn not only supplied us with water, but personally delivered it in a wagon behind his tractor. He was a great storyteller and we’ll never forget some of his tales including the wolf carcasses with extra long tails, the tractor that rolled into the manure pit, and his cows who were very patient, especially on Sunday mornings. Merlyn was one-of-a-kind and he will be sorely missed and remembered by his family, his close friends, and everyone else who knew him.
We extend our sincere condolences to Frances and the rest of their family.

We are so sorry to hear of Uncle Merle's passing.We have fond memories of him,especially when we would be together and we would sneak him a few more treats.The last time David was with him he was telling Uncle Merle about our Christmas lights.David lights up our yard for all to enjoy.We have memorial trees for our loved ones.
