Obituary of Violet Lillian Prouty

Peacefully at home in Abbotsford, British Columbia, surrounded by family, Violet Lillian M. Curtis Prouty in her 98^th year on Monday, February 18, 2019. Predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Stewart in 2007. Deeply cherished mother of seven:  Janet Brock (Lawrence), Don (Pam Peterson), Bob (Penelope Bender), Joy Sheffield (Marcus), Will (Anne Houtman), Joan LaPointe (Marcel), and Jean Benoit. Adored grandma of 27: Lauralee Dukeshire (Mark), James Brock, Steven Brock, Janelle Sadoway (Nick); Alex Prouty (Marga Coleman), David Prouty (Cyndi Gray), Stephen Prouty, Becca Cross (Brendan), Joanna Mayo (Justynn}; Heather Engen (Dwight), Danny Prouty (Amy Wolcott), Ted Prouty (Kristin Holton), Jonny Prouty, Sam Bender-Prouty, Sean Bender-Prouty; Katie FiveCrows (Jayson), Jenni Sheffield; Jesse Prouty, Amy Prouty, Jay Prouty; Joe LaPointe (Megan Souza), Jonathan LaPointe (Hilary de Fluiter), Jillian LaPointe, Jenna LaPointe; Brian Benoit (Alicia Stapleton), Nicki Benoit, Justin Benoit (Kristen McCurdy). Treasured great-grandmother of 41 and counting. Dear aunt to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her siblings, Arch, Roy and his wife Ellen, and Winnie. Survived by in-laws, Walter Fedusenko and Louise Prouty. Besides her family she was also a much-loved Grade 1 and 2 teacher at College Park Elementary School in Oshawa.
