Some people may remember me and a lot won’t. once in awhile I would google Laurie’ name to see if I could see anything on her. Such as I read about her raising goats in Sunderland and now her obituary. I’m sorry I’m late seeing this. Laurie was a very important part of my life when I was 12. I’m not sure if you remember but she took in foster children. I was her very first one. Davis was a baby and I have pictures somewhere of his very first birthday.he has cake all over his face and our family dog beside him waiting for scraps. Laurie was more of a mother figure to me. Even when I left foster care and returned home she still met up with me. She even took me to a friend I believes cottage in Michigan and took me to a beach there and we collected seashells and rocks. We lived on I think gray st in Scarborough I remember she worked for Geacc computers. She had friends in sunderland. I remember Lance Grey, he had a wife and I believe a son named Lance Junior. I remember going to their home. And I would listen to Michael Jackson on their stereo. Lance taught me how to bbq. And his wife takes Laurie into allowing me to put Sun-in in my hair. I vaguely remember they had a daughter. I could be wrong. I remember once a week Laurie played baseball. I remember one of her team mates names as Greta I think. I remember her face with long brown hair and in pigtails . Then we would go for food after her game. I remember her teaching me needle point. Where you would put fabric on a ring and punch thread through a Pre printed design. Although she may not have known, she made a huge impact in my life. She helped children in need. I remember when she was so excited to have her house built in sunderland and showed me the blue print. I honestly only remember I thought it was cool that the upper kitchen cabinets would be open to a sitting area I believe. She took me to the land she bought. At the front of it there was a bit of a hill and I know it wasn’t far from Lance house I remember his house as well. I want to give my condolences to her family and I’m shocked to be reading this. . I had to work to save half the money for a canadas wonderland pass and then she would put the other half towards it BUT she made sure I saved my half. So many many amazing memories of her. Laurie had a heart like no other. A beautiful sole, her laugh I can hear, her curly brown hair. I have nothing but good loving memories of her. For me and what she did for me, she is a staple in who I am, she was an absolute Angel on earth and an Angel for eternity in heaven RIP beautiful Angel

I was very sad to hear of Laurie's death. I knew her from her time milking goats. She had a very interesting sense of humour. My thoughts go out to her family. Rebecca Parker
