Obituary of Margaret Tocher

Margaret Elizabeth Tocher Entered into rest peacefully with family by her side, at Soldiers' Memorial Hospital in Orillia on Monday, January 28th, 2013. Beloved wife of the late Bruce Tocher (1987). Loving mom and best friend of her daughters Linda Koeslag (Paul) of Hampton and Beth Bullock (Bill) of Beaverton. Devoted grandma of Bob Bullock (Victoria) of Haliburton, Jessika Koeslag (Christina McNish) of Toronto, Holly Bullock of Beaverton and Michelle Koeslag Heming (Drew) of Port Hope. Proud grandma G.G. of Avery and Arlen Bullock. Predeceased by her brother Gerald Graham (1990). Margaret grew up in Udora and moved to the Sunderland area in 1940 to start her married life with Bruce on his family farm. Retiring in 1967 they moved into the town of Sunderland. They enjoyed travelling with each other and also with their girls. Margaret was involved in various Community activities. After 45 years of volunteer work with the Sunderland Cemetery, she was given an honorary membership on the Board of Directors. Margaret was a founding member of the Sunderland Figure Skating Club, and over the years took her turn as president of the Sunderland U.C.W. as well as the Sunderland Seniors. She volunteered her knitting skills to Lakeview Manor for many years before taking up residency there and was still knitting up until the last few months. Margaret loved her home in Sunderland, especially her garden and flowers as well as the company of friends. She will be remembered for her patience, love of music, devotion to her family and caring generosity for people around her. Friends are invited to call at the Thorne Funeral Home, 98 River St. in Sunderland on Thursday, January 31st from 1:00 pm until time of Funeral Service at 2:00 pm. Interment Sunderland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers ( due to allergies in the family), donations to Sunderland Cemetery would be gratefully appreciated.
