Obituary of Paul Shier

August 24, 1945 – August 13, 2021 (42 year employee of Sunderland Co-op) Peacefully, with his family by his side, on Friday, August 13, 2021 at the Port Perry Hospital, at age 75. Paul is survived by his loving wife Gloria (nee White) of Sunderland. Loved father of Scott (Kim) of Uxbridge, Lori-Ann (Brian) Bacon of Greenbank, and Deanna (Matthew) Slama of Sunderland. Loving grandfather of Alexander and Liam Bacon, Jacob, Camden and Alexis Slama, Alex, Cameron, Ian and Mia Jennings. Dear brother of Ralph Shier (Anne) of Goodwood, and Roger Shier (Lise) of Greely, Ontario. Brother-in-law of Edward (Donna) White, Arnold (Valerie) White, Kelvin White, and Karen (Ken) Page. Predeceased by his parents Ross and Aileen (nee Warren) Shier and his brother Wayne Shier (2020). The family of Paul Shier will receive friends at the THORNE FUNERAL HOME, 98 River Street in Sunderland (705-432-2672) on Thursday, August 19th from 2 – 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. In accordance with the directives provided by the Bereavement Authority of Ontario please contact the funeral home between 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. to schedule your visitation appointment. Wearing of masks or face coverings by everyone is mandatory. A Private Service to celebrate the life of Paul Shier will be held with Reverend Les Hills officiating. Interment Sunderland Cemetery.
