I was deeply saddened to learn of Lorne's passing. My sincere condolences to Carolyne, Janet, Laurie and their families. In my early years, I spent two months every summer on the Dixon farm. As a result, Lorne and I became great friends. I have wonderful memories of my summers on the farm and will always treasure these memories. Lorne was a dear friend and an amazing farmer. He will be dearly missed.

On behalf of the Gilchrist family (Alfred, Ruth, myself and Karen), I wish to express our condolences to Lorne's sister-in-law, his nieces and great-nieces and all those who knew him. Our grandmother was Florence Oke. We remember, in our younger days, usually on a Sunday, visiting with our parents Gordon and Dorothy Gilchrist with George, Florence and family. Lorne will be indeed be remembered for his love of the farm.

I have many good memories of working with Lorne. From fixing tractor hydraulics, to learning to drive the 10 speed grain truck, to kicking a fire out of the barn at the bottom of the hay elevator, to the bull that could open stalls and we shipped out finally, the good meals and the rest after lunch under the trees by the driveway. So many more memories to go with it. I was lucky to have spent time with Lorne in the important years of growing into a man. You will be remembered by me.

Sending condolences to the family members. I was best acquainted with Florence and Harvey, as relatives on my mother’s side, but did often see the boys in the Woodville area at local events. I’m sorry to hear of Lorne’s passing.
Lois McEachern, Gladys McEachern was my mother, her maiden name was Oke.
