We remember Mollie as that brave young woman who headed to Canada on her own. Mollie's Mum was a friend of our Nana (Minnie Wilson). I've heard that Mollie planned to come with a friend, but when the friend backed out she came here on her own. She stayed for a while with Mum's sister, Joan, then came to live with us in Green River. Of course, there she met Keith and the rest is history. I well remember Wendy getting us to say in unison "Hello *Aunt* Mollie!" when we saw her after the wedding. It took a while to get used to her being our aunt... she didn't seem old enough!
Mollie & Keith didn't have any children, but loved and were loved by their many neices and nephews. They were godparents to several of us. After Mum passed away, it was Mollie I phoned on Mothers' Day. They were always fun to be with. I have so many memories: going with them to visit Mollie's aunt in Brixham when I was in England (with a picnic along the way, of course), a three-day trip to Florida with Mollie & Keith, Pat, and Greg, weekends in Cherrywood when I was first living in Toronto, Mollie putting on her make-up in the car as Keith drove them to work (try that some time!).
Thanks, Aunt Mollie, for the memories.
