I spent a weekend with Wavel building a new office at Unicamp several years ago. There were 4 of us from the Unitarian Fellowship of Peterborough and we had known each other through the men's group that meet monthly. Wavel was always pretty quiet at our meetings but came out of his shell once we got our tools out.
I was sorry to loose him when he left Peterborough but understood how important family was for him.
