I am heartbroken to hear of John's passing. John was a one of a kind soul, who would brighten anyone's day with on of his stories or offering a helping hand.
Meeting John through my days at Home Hardware, specifically at the Plowing Match was an honour. He was always there to lend a helping hand and a true friendship developed after our Home Hardware days.
I got to share my family with John and Gloria and although we lost touch over the years, I know that the stories, moments and times that I got to spend with him will forever be in my heart.
I am so sorry to his family, but glad to know that John has left everyone with such loving and wonderful memories.

John was truly a champion of ‘community’. Not just your local community, but also the Home Hardware community. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering support touched everyone he encountered.
Whether lending a helping hand or sharing his handyman skills, he was always there to make things better for those around him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. Every time I eat a slice of apple pie, I will ask, “is there any pork gravy?”
My thoughts are with you all at this time.
PS - I found this picture from an old Plowing Match – I thought it summed up John perfectly. Pouring rain, cold & muddy, John suited up to help – and with a great big smile!

I am so sorry to hear of John's passing. Our roads crossed during our years in the Fire Service. He was certainly very dedicated and devoted in his firefighting career.
