Obituary of Mike Eaton
EDWARD MICHAEL “MIKE” EATON
Passed away suddenly, but not unexpectedly, on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at the age of 77. Mike is survived by his life partner, Brenda Warrington, as well as her children; Chantal, Danielle and Luke, and grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Sylvia. Brother to David and Richard. Godfather to Barrett (predeceased), Aja, Kane and Heron.
Born in Jamaica and raised in West Hill, Mike became part of the 1960’s through 1980’s Toronto music scene, playing guitar and co-writing songs with John Carr. A Florist by trade, Mike worked with his Mom at her West Hill Florist shop, taking over operation of the business when she retired, eventually owning his own shop in Scarborough.
Mike’s peculiar, and often off-colour, sense of humour remained with him throughout his life, most recently entertaining and challenging the staff at Bon Air LTC in Cannington, to whom we are grateful for the care given, and kindness shown to Mike. There will be no funeral. Mike will be laid to rest in St. Margaret’s-in-the-Pines Cemetery in West Hill. Memories, photos and condolences may be shared at www.thornefuneralhome.ca
