Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jane and the whole extended family. We have a hard time feeling sorry for Dunc. He had a beautiful wife who loved him dearly, two kids who adored him and grandchildren who also loved him. He was respected and loved by many family and friends. Selfishly we would want to keep everyone for a long time, but for unknown reasons its not the way. We do know that Dunc did have a great life. Take care Jane.

To the whole Vernon family. I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Dunc. I have so many wonderful memories of Dunc. A lot of them took place at Spook's. They always involved a deck of cards and the odd refreshment. I send my deepest sympathy to y'all at this most difficult time.

Dunc was an incredible individual to work with at Brock High School. Dunc was a very dedicated and dependable person who always wore a smile and a positive attitude. He touched generations of Brock students with his quiet strength. It was a privilege to have worked with Dunc. I am very sorry for the loss of your husband, father, brother and brother-in-law. Jane, Leslie, Donnie and Family: If words could take away the pain, I'd say them. If memories could sustain you, I'd find thousands of pictures. If the tears and sadness won't stop, remember Dunc's smile to keep going. If losing Dunc to soon makes you angry, look to what he helped create: Leslie and Donnie. If loneliness overcomes you, remember that friends and family are only a phone call away. If the grief won't stop, know that Dunc is watching over you until you meet again. We are still in shock! It's so hard to believe that a great man with a friendly smile, warm personality and rumbly blue truck is gone. There are not enough words that could every possibly express the hearfelt sorrow felt over the loss of a great cousin/friend. So many memories that span from childhood days at the lake, fun in the hay mow, boxing matches, which by the way he always won, and family holidays spent together,and then carrying on to include so many happy times together through out our adult lives will keep Dunc's memory alive forever.

My sincere condolences to the Vernon family.While teaching @ Brock HS Dunc was always available to share a smile & a laugh,he had such a pleasant manner about him & was always willing to help out.Outside of Broch HS we shared a few friendly libations together over the years,usually @ the 19th hole @ Simcoe Shores or Cedarhurst.Duncan's memorial picture says it all,he was a special person.Ft.Myers,Florida.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Dunc. I worked with him many years at Brock HS, played hockey with him on Monday nights after school for a few years, and always had great conversations with him in the halls (hockey and classic cars were two of our many topics). If there was anything I needed help with, a special job to be done, he would always help out. Always a smile and "G'day Mr Suggitt". My thoughts are with all of you at this time.

I have known Dunc since 1990 when I was a student at Brock and now as a teacher at Brock. I was shocked and saddened to hear of Dunc's passing, especially when not too long ago we were all feeling so hopeful for a speedy recovery. Dunc always took time to chat and offer a smile. His humble and youthful spirit will live on in our memories and in our halls.
