I moved into a house that was near Dougs about 35 years ago. This was not long after he had lost his wife. He came over to say hi and from time to time I would see him until he moved away. A couple of years ago I was in to see my Aunt at Victoria Manor and low and behold she is sitting with a "Mr. Fish". I asked him are you Mr. Fish from Ramsay Road? He was very happy to be talking about past events and he remembered coming over to say hello so long ago. He had a great memory. We had frequent chats about life and I am glad that I got to meet up with him after all those years. Everybody loved Doug and he will be missed.

Doug attended our chapel program on his last birthday. As I stood before the residents I could see Doug sitting at the back and there seemed to be red marks all over his head and face. I stopped the service and walked over to him only to see that he had lipstick kiss marks all over. He loved it and we had a great laugh together. Doug's presence and influence will be greatly missed. God bless you.

We will miss you very much. You were a great-great grandfather to all of us. Your time has come to move on and live in heaven with God. We will remember you for ever. Love Grace.
