Obituary of Mildred Ethel Cyr
Mildred “Millie” Ethel Cyr
February 24, 1934 – September 22, 2022
On September 22nd, 2022, our dear Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, went to be with her Lord and Saviour at Peterborough Regional Hospital. Millie was born in Sussex, NB and was the 4th oldest of 17 children. She met Alyre in Sussex, and they built a life together, eventually moving to Ontario. She had a strong faith and prayed for all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren daily. After Alyre’s passing, Millie met Roy and they enjoyed many years together. She loved to watch hockey and baseball and was known to drive great distances to watch a grandchild play. She loved to send cards for birthdays and sent hundreds over the years to every relative near and far. In recent years, she enjoyed living at Royal Gardens retirement home in Peterborough and made many friends there. The last months were hard as her body decided it was time to rest. We will miss her.
She is survived by her children Paul (Buenefe), Alan (Celine), Mark, Neil (Peggy), and Michelle Davis (Peter). Grandchildren Joseph (Joey) Cyr (Joclyn), Alan Cyr (Jamie), Ian Cyr (Nicole), Eamon Cyr, Kortni Cyr (Andrew), Joseph, Hannah and Sarah Davis. Great Grandchildren Skyler, Kailyn, Noah, Joshua, Tenleigh, Remiel and Isla. Her siblings Charles (Doris), Ruby (Eddy), David, Joan (Wayne), Bill (Jan), Wayne (Jean), Judy (Ivan), Doug, Carl (Emily) and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her son David Cyr (Linda), husbands Joseph Alyre Cyr (1997), and Roy Perry (2018), parents George and Lula Thorne, siblings Lloyd, Beulah, Arnold, Donald, Bob, Brian and Ron.
