Gayle, It is hard to believe that your dear sister crossed over into heaven over a year ago. She is rejoicing in His love and presence even as you read this. We have that Hope in Jesus and what a day that will be when you see her face to face... yet it is still hard to carry on at times when those waves of loss hit us. We are praying for you and the Allen family through another year of transition. May you all continue to know the comfort and love of the Lord in your lives as you lean on Jesus through those difficult times. He is there to lean on. He is your strength. God Bless you. Sincerely, Joanne

Darlene wasn't just my neighbour or co-worker, she was also my best friend.
We would walk up-street every morning to get our mail and to meet up with others for coffee and gossip. We all thought we were solving all of the world's problems with our coffee-shop whit and wisdom.
THAT'S WHAT FRIENDS DO.
When Darlene got very sick and had to have scary treatments and multiple Dr.'s appointments, she would ask me to go with her. She said it was so I could take notes so she would remember what was said afterwards.I think it was because she knew how frightened I was for her and needed to hear the Dr.'s as much as she did.
THAT'S WHAT FRIENDS DO.
She was always so proud of her vegetable garden every summer! She would always tell me " come on over and help yourself". I don't think she realized how many times I would trot across our back yards with my large bowl and raid the Swiss chard patch! She never said anything about it to me, but the next year the Swiss chard patch would be a little bigger than the year before.
THAT'S WHAT FRIENDS DO.
I always knew that Darlene was someone I could confide in and she knew she could do the same with me.
THAT'S WHAT FRIENDS DO.
There are so many more memories I have of Darlene and I will always be grateful I have them, but most of all, I will ALWAYS miss her.
THAT'S WHAT FRIENDS DO!

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. Sorry for your loss, Darlene was such a great person. The first time we met her she welcomed us with open arms and we never felt like we were an intrusion when we called or dropped by.

I have grown up knowing this women as my mom's best friend. I have such fond memories of Darlene and Marshall and sandy coming over and playing cards as us kids would tell ghost stories. I remembe we were down in the basement doing a saince or ouija board and the lights flickering and we all running upstairs to our parents while they all laughed at us. I remember Darlene Carol and my mom working at country kitchen and my mom telling us allthe funny stuff they would do or seen there.
Darlene was a strong beautiful and caring women. she always had a smile on her face and i loved seeing my mom and Darlene sharing stories laughing and being there for each other when they needed it. Darlene will be missed by so many and I know I will carry the memories in my heart forever. xo
